Radio Antenna

Well, I was doing some stuff behind the radio today and to make a long story short, the tip of the AM/FM antenna that plugs into the radio broke off. Tried to use some electrical tape to get it back on and that failed. The thing was pretty rusty anyways, how it got rusted I don't know but how am I to fix this. As of right now I have no am or fm. Would I just buy the new wiring and then run that from the antenna to the radio, or can i just a new connector piece? Any help would be appeciated.

I had to buy a new antenna cable, mine did the same thing, corroded off.. it wasnt that fun running a new one because it is way up there behind the dash.. I got mine from www.ford-parts.com - cheaper than the dealer prices by like $10

Where your truck came from. The one with Edison means the truck came from the Edison, NJ plant.

Whats different from the 2? I don't know.

you'll need to take out the glove box, then take off the actual antenna mast and there is a grommet that keeps the cable secure and runs through a small hole which runs into the dash, you can see where it goes when you take the glove box out.. do the reverse of how that was ran, try your best to follow it anyways, as I had to kinda re-route mine a different way.

I'd suggest to be different try retrofitting a Honda S2k shorty antenna, I've also seen some trucks with the Vdub stubby antenna.

^^You know though, I thought about doing a different style antenna when I thought I had to replace the antenna as well, I'd like something that is more powerfull as my stock antenna sucks

I got a 21" but he also offers a 15" one. The stock antenna is 31" for reference.
