noise

i did the mod where you take out your jumpseat and putin a sub, and when doing the hook up i already had all the wires from a previos sub system that i had, and was able to use all the wires again , i hooked every thing up and it worked great , but now when i got in it today i hear the alt. running in the sub and it also made all 4 speakers make a cracking noise and it sounded bad, just wondering if you al think its a bad ground or a short in the system , or ? any help would be grand.

i have a sony hu and 4 alpine 6x8 door speakers and a jbl sub. as well as a sony amp

Make sure your RCAs aren't within distance of anything that is electrically noisy such as the fuel pump, ignition, fans, etc. Also, make sure your ground didn't get loose during the switch.
