Opinions on Double Din

I'm gonna be installing a DVD player in my 2010. The head unit so far I like the best is the JVC AVX830. I've been reading through the forum, and I've seen people write both the Metra, and Scosche kits are junk. Does anyone have a JVC unit installed? If so which kit worked nice for you? I think the Metra is 95-5600. Scosche ???
Also, when I do the trimming to fit the double din does that stop me from re-installing the factory head unit if I wanted to?

I think either kit does what it was made to do, what do expect for 7 dollars I have used both I liked the Metra more only because had better instructions for what I was doing.
I wouldn't worry to much about it the trimming is very minimal. If your really worried go get a junk yard one and trim it up to see how it will look with the stock unit in it. Or use it and save the original for when you want to go back to a single din.

im not possitive on reinstalling the stock unit but you dont grind off the left and right lips which mainly were the stock unit clamps to so im guess it would reinstall and if you want to go single din that kid will definatlly fit i had a single din before my double and i didnt try but just by looking at it i can tell you it will and theres prolly no difference between the two kits i used i think the schoshe with a pioneer 4200dvd and the trim didnt work for anything i ended up cutting off the top and bottom parts of the trim and dremeling the two left over side pieces a little smaller and glued them in all in all it looks really clean and im happy with the install as far as the jvc goes iver never seen one in use so cant really comment on that

no one is running that kit to my knowlage however if your kit has a removable faceplate or a flipdown face plate i would highly recommend it my pioneer avh-p3200bt dosnt have a flipdown or removable faceplate but because of the size of the unit and the way i wanted it to fit i ended up modding my 95-5600 kit to be like the 95-5817

Thanks alot for the help guys. I'd rather sort all this out now and just be able to install it when I get it. Nothing would pain me more than to have to look at the box sitting on my table because I got a crap kit.
