PA speaker info needed
Looking to finally buy a PA speaker. Any recommendations? Anything I should get over another (ie plastic over metal etc...)
Well that depends. What are you connecting it to? If it is a CB radio, then one of those little plastic outdoor loudspeakers from radio shack will do the job just fine.

I'll have to mount it high and back because I do go muddin and I do go thru water. I don't want to mess it up. Thanx for the pic! That gives me an idea of the size I'll have to find a place for.

I have mine mounted behind the billet grille in the lower bumper opening in my truck, and I've gone through plenty of mud and it still works fine. It's been full of mud before and I just blasted it out with a hose and it still works... It's a metal speaker too, and I got it on ebay for around $15.

the PA speakers from radio shack are marine speakers...many powered car washes and rootings and its still runnin fine...if it gets mud in there, just hose it out....simple...
i had two choices, a 55w speaker or 65w one, but the 65was way too big for my case...but 55w is LOUD...trust me... |
You can get a 3 million watt speaker for all it matters. It won't change anything since the PA on the CB is probably only 8-12 watts. The wattage on the speaker is what it's maximum capacity is, not what it "produces".
i know, i was just making a reference, due to the fact one if significantly bigger than the other one....just so he could figure out where to put it
Oh dang..I didn't know I could get it wet. When I think speaker I think delicate. That is a HUGE help thank you!!
haha no problem man, u'll be straight...

Here is LIL BLUE'S
I pointed it to the side to help stop water from going right up the horn it's a Speco, pretty comman brand http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...S0028-1000.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...S0027-1000.jpg |
Is that bar bent around it?
If you mean the black line riding above the speaker it is my hood release and just a pliable cable
Uh...I knew that..heh...was just...um...kidding
if you get the one from radio shack go with the black one. it IS louder then the white and this has been proven. (two friends bought the different speakers) and the black is easier to hide behind the grill.
Nice...
looks good neil... |
It might make it louder, just like any bigger speaker can make a bigger sound if done properly, but it isn't making wattage.
nobody said anything about wattage and they are both the same size.
