sub problem...

sub problem...

wen i have my sub just hooked up to the amp regular it works but wen i bridge it the sub stops playing. is it to much power for the sub? the amp is a kenwood kac 5204 with a kicker comp 10

Even if it were too much power for the sub it wouldn't cut off. It's possible that it's a non-bridgeable amp.

Are you sure you are hooking it up correctly? I know you can wire it in serious and parallel.

What I would look up a wiring diagram of your sub and see what it says.

Kenwood KAC-5204 (kac5204) - 2-Channel Car Amplifier Power Amp - Sonic Electronix

Look at the 3rd picture and it shows you how to wire it.

yeah thats how i had it wired originally. but now i have it hooked up just to the right speaker outputs

Shouldnt you have it wired up to the "bridge" inputs?

If it has a bridge switch that is turned on & you only have the right side inputs connected, there's a good chance you will or have blown a channel of the amp.

Some amps can be very fragile when it comes to wiring, some just shut down, some light a led, some just burn out.

Also, most amps (when bridging) will use one -or+ from the left channel & one +or- from the right channel.

it didnt work wen i had it bridged. but wen i hooked it up like a speaker it works fine its just under powerd by alot. and theres a filter switch that ses off and lpf and the manual sed to put it on lpf and it still didnt work. so now i have ot on lpf still but just not bridged
