Mach MP3 help

I have a 2003 Ranger with Mach MP3 stereo and was wondering why the MP3 directiry won't work. I burned a cd with nothing but .mp3 songs, put the disc in my stereo and it played just like a normal cd. I pushed the track button and mp3 directory button to no avail. I read my manual and it said that it should go into flat file mode and to push mp3 dir. button to go into directory mode. What am I doing wrong?

If there are no directories on the CD, then it will play just like a regular "flat file" CD. The MP3 dir button is for changing subdirectories on a CD with multiple subdirs. Just the fact that it played the CD means it's working.

Will the MP3 directories show up with names or just as Dir 1, Dir 2, etc.? I burned a MP3 CD this morning with several directories on it, but the names do no show up. The names of each song does show up OK.
