quick question..

can i hook up patch cables or rca cables to my stock head unit or should i just hook my subs up to the rear speaker wire....or would it be better to just get a new head unit, aftermarket, to run some rca wires...thanxs

the only way to hook RCA cables up to the stock head unit is to use a converter...

yes you can splice into the back of the h/u. look at the wiring diagram. there should be right and left power, output watever. splice into that with and RCA jack and then the RCAs.
