radio stopped working even after a fuse change

Radio fuse is good but radio doesn’t work. i replaced the fuse after seeing that the display and radio weren’t working, after replacing the fuse the display came back up but my radio still wont work. i tried using just a cd to see if it was a problem with the antenna but not even my cds will work. does anyone know what else i should check or if i need to replace the head unit itself?

Welcome to the forum

Key on engine off
Unplug fuse 28 in cab fuse box and see if radio works, fuse 28 is the MUTE when starting signal

Radio has 2 other fuses, 20 and 29 in that cab fuse box

And does the radio power up and can you hit "seek" and does it lock on next station?
And does the CD load and seem to start playing?

If these all work then the amplifier inside the radio is the issue, not showing a separate amplifier with subwoofer in 1998 models
