Remote control wire

Hi, I am wiring up my truck for an amplifier tonight and I was just trying to figure out where the remote control wire goes into the head unit. I have a sony xplod head unit and on the back right-hand side there is a blue female connector and I think that is where the remote wire goes, right? If not where does the remote wire go?

Most remote wires on aftermarket headunits are light blue.

To be sure, check the wire with a multi-meter after the headunit is wired up correctly and powered on. Touch the pos (+) end of the multi-meter to the wire and the neg (-) lead to a good chassis ground. There should be 12v.

Turn the ignition off, or turn the headunit off. The 12v source should go away.

Hope this helps.

so it is always on, or only on when you turn on the wipers?

only when i turn on my truck
you cant use wiper when you r trucks off you can on accesories but not on off
it works with out using the wipers and long as it gets power to it when you turn you truck on you can use it as a remote conection

What I ended up doing was taping into the ignition wire on the HU. I checked it with the multimeter and it was 12v. The blue connector I was talking about before only has 4v comming out of it so that didn't work out.
