satellite radio merger

its official my xm rep told me at work youll see this happen by the end of 07. No big changes though unless you want changes. For instance if you have xm and you want sirius channels you can add them a la carte choose what channels you want andyou pay a lil more for service kinda like cable tv. I think this is gonna be big

i think it is a rip off to pay for radio......if they merge, then they should offer ALL the channels to both subscribers under 1 name....kinda how AT&T and Cingular when they merged, the AT&T customers got Cingular phones, rates, and use of their towers....

See, for me, paying for radio is very worth it because I am ALWAYS in the truck. Paying for TV on the other hand seems stupid to me because I seem to watch it for less than 1 hour a day (sometimes I don't watch it for days on end). A lot of times when I do watch it, I watch regular TV channels anyway. So, if you didn't guess, I don't have satellite TV anymore. If there is something I really want to watch, I have my old man tape it for me....

considering xm and siruis are the only sat radio providers that would be a very bad thing to have happen

I would rather see them merge as well. I only listen to music. I could care less about sports, talk, weather, news, etc on the radio.

If they merge then i could choose between more stations that play the same basic music.

Also if they merge i could see the price going down some. They even talked like it could. And from what i read it would not go up. If it goes up I'm dropping the service.

the price will not go down i already stated whats going to happen...

1) rates wil remain the same
2) you will keep your main provider if you xm you still have xm no with no changes UNLESS you want to add channels to your xm reciever that sirius offers
3)You will charge accordingly in a bracket with how many channels you want to add
4)ALL sirius and xm recievers made will made able to handle this change no needing to upgrade to new reciever is necessary
5)If you prepaid service your prepayment will go unchanged

How much was this one time fee?

I love the sirius once you listen to it compared to public radio you'll never listen to regular radio with all the commercials again.

I'm hoping the Sat. Quality will increase, because right after I got my 07 I installed a kit, no FM modulator crap, I did it the nice way, and it still sounded like it had been compressed 100x

i had a sirius unit in my truck years ago and it sounded hella awesome. In fact I used to use my free online sirius account, err my parents, to listen to it on my laptop too. Great way to learn of music.

I don't see why big cities, but that's a big duh on bridges. It's amazing, tunnels too!

But usually in big cities the companies put up terrestrial repeaters.

tall buildings interfere with the sat signal i guess...basically the same as being under a bridge unless the sat is directly above you

wife has xm in her car came with the car.

She loves it I hate it. They say commercial free I think that is a load of crap.
We went to st. louis and heard at least 20 diffrent advertisements for stuff.
they should go from song to song no breaks then it would be nice kinda like a huge cd

xm is the best I got it free when I went to game one of the world series last year. It was only for a year but I'm pretty sure I'm going to renew it. expecially now that Detroit lost there talk channel and I cant listen to Opie and Anthony on free fm any more.GRRR
