My dad has Sirius and he loves it. He drives over 1000 miles a week in rural North Dakota and said he will never go back to regular radio. Also on the merger there is satellite tv is a possibility, because then they dont have to split the satellite bandwidth in half between the two company's i guess.

I have sirius and LOVE it!

My biggest complaint with it is if they add commercials to Sirius. That'll **** me off.

True not sure what channel I heard the ad on. Usually I listen to faction or hard attack, octane buzzsaw etc. Don't recall ever hearing ads on those.

yeah with satellite it's hit or miss.... you won't hear nearly as much (if any) in most cases as you would with traditional radio. traditional radio depends on those ads to make money since it's content is free for us to listen to.. whereas, satellite is already making money off of you because you're a subscriber, so they don't need to depend on ads... they're making their money off of us instead of the advertisers.

i listen to howard everyday... i remember someone calling in and asking him when he first came to satellite "why are there still commercials during his show?" ....and he gave a good answer..

he explained that those two or three commercial breaks that they take during the coarse of his show are to simply help keep the show in order.... that small amount of down time gives them enough time to hurry up and organize notes, skits, change things around, bathroom breaks, etc... he explained that they would leave the audio live the whole time, but it would quickly get old and take away from the "show" effect.. i understood what he was getting at, which is why i don't mind him going on commercial breaks every now and then.

No, they got rid of opie and anthony and Motor city middays and moved D&D to 6 to 10am and replaced the shows with all sports talk.
