well. i was aiming for two rockford fosgate p110's and two p18's in my single cab. i dont think it will happen though since the numbers aren't coming out right. So then my friend throws a new idea at me. THREE thats right THREE Rockford Fosgate 10's in the back. I just crunched the numbers, and it may fit...with a minimal loss of legroom i might add. Its dark, and I don't feel like going outside to check, but what do you guys think? I'll post the numbers real quick for you.

P110- .65 cubic foot of airspace each
5.25 inch mounting depth

the possible box will be a wedge. 32 inches long. 20 inches tall. 5.5 inches deep on top, 9.5 inches deep at bottom. according to an internet box calculator, it would work.

Thoughts?

 

i think it might work. gut the rear speakers, give yourself some more room, and you should be in better shape. the next thing would be amp placement, with three subs, youll need a nice size one.

 

I also have the same problem. Iwould just stick with 2 P1s instead of wasting the space for three with minimal improvement. You would not be able to fit 3 anyways due to the small dimensions. Also watch your depth on the bottom and watch how your seat folds back. I currently have one twelve and about to attempt to put two Alpine Type-Rs in my 91 reg. cab. The two subs will fit behind the passenger seat and the amp behind your seat and you will be fine. 2 clicks on the passenger seat none on yours.

 

also the impeadance of the speakers with 3 gets tricky. and also don't for get about bracing the box with those dimensions, long front panel like that could make for it to be pita.

Quest, which would have more SPL, im not going for record breaking...i just like to make things shake. 3 10's sealed or the 10 and 8's ported?
Dan, i would have each woofer in a "seperate" box so to speak. it would be one long box, but with dividers. Im almost positive, although i havent remeasured my interior, that i can fit a box for 3 10's in the back.
Mr. Malina, what other would you suggest, ive only ever used RF, and i know what they can do.

personally i would take those out and get a good set of front components, the fact is is that in a single cab truck the only thing that rear speakers do is "bass". And you will have plenty. Also go with 2 10 sealed because getting the cubic foot for the port would be hard and waste amp room. Yes ported is louder but harder to do in a reg. cab.

 

well. i finally went to check the measurements. If i build the box right i'll be comfortable, enough. I can place the amp under a seat if necessary, there it about 2.75 inches of clearance underneath the driver seat. as for completely removing my rears. its out of the question IMO. i cant take them out and utlize the space without cutting or completely removing the plastic. which i dont want to do. so i will replace them with some good coaxials when i blow the stockies.

 

What about two Kicker 8" L7's or one 10" L7. Those will sound good ported or sealed. With a ported box you will get louder but overall a sealed box will sound better. There are a lot of good brands out there. Personally I don't care for RF's new stuff but their old stuff was awasome.

also you would have it in seperate chambers, that is what you are talking about. you could think about doubleing the panels on the front for some edtra bracing.

also if you look there : http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp that will help you with the impeadance for wiring them to an amp. remember about wiring to low of a load to an amp will fry it.

 

I don't know if he would be able to fit either subs from either company. He wouldn't have room for a very deep speaker. I have heard good things about fi but I am not familiar with stereo integrity.

 

good point, i forgot it was a reg cab.

check out dayton from partsexpress.com iirc they are pretty shallow and still sound decent. not to mention they are inexpensive.
