port calculations

my buddy is thinking of buying my 8 inch solo baric subs. he wants me to build him a ported box. he doesnt have enough room for the ports on the face of the box. so i thought of making one port for the 3 subs. the kicker specs for the dims are 2 x 9.5 x 21.25. how do i make one port for 3 woofers? basically what do i do to figure out the new port? do i add the numbers together or what?

its better for you to go sealed then port because ported requires more space

All three subs share a single chamber. The port calculations are the same. Use the entire net volume of the enclosure.

but i want to make one port. not one port for each sub. basically 3 subs 1 port.

he has the airspace just not enough room on the face of the box. and the way the box sets we cant put the port on the side of the box.

Then put it out the front or. 90 degree direction shift isn't going to affect the sound that much.

You'll need an ilistration or a pic for me to understand wtf you're talking about though. 3 subs, 1 port. all three subs share the same chamber and the port can go any which way.

I have 2 15s with only one big port. Ill get a pic of the box tomorrow. I have a 6 cubic ft box with a port that is 4"W, 16.5"D, and 18"L and its tuned to 35Hz.

Here is a box i found with 3 ED 8s and one port.
