FM Direct Adapter

Well, to make a long story short, last weekend I installed the pro install kit for my sirius sp5. Last night the FM wire that goes from the adaptor to the Sirius radio snapped. I tried to crimp the wire together but I still would get static. (wondering since the wire is gold and the crip is silver, if that would make a difference). Anyways, how would i go about reparing this, or will I just have to get a new adaptor. -25 bucks :(

BigWill, do you mean pics of the problem or generally my sirius setup?

And yeah 25 bucks, but thats 25 bucks easily used somewhere else. Im a broke college student haha.

Its supposed to be warm tomorrow and friday so I might fool around with the wire a bit, wondering tho (im no expert) if the connection wasnt good though because of the crimp, not because the wire was snapped. I hear that since the connector is metal or silver... and the wire is gold, that could interfere with the connection. I'm thinking I might just try twisting the wires together and wrap them in electrical tape. Would that work?
