speaker questions

hey so i got a couple 5x3 speakers from an old tv i took apart and was wanting to put them in my truck somewhere but i didnt know if hooking them up to my JVC headunit would be alright or if it would blow it all

highly doubt it would sound very good, or even serve a purpose for that matter....doubt it would blow it out....just touch the positive wire to the positive terminal and the negative to the negative and see what you get..but like i said youre most definitely wasting your time.

Well to start with most home audio stuff is 8 ohm which generally isn't the best for car audio and won't put out much power. Secondly if you parallel wire them in conjunction with the ones you already have you'll lower the total load from the HU and risk burning out that channel on the radio. On the other hand if you replace your factory speakers with them chances are the factory ones will still sound better. You'd be better off to get some cheapo Sony etc. from Wal-Mart and replace what you have or et a small amp.

5x3 are too small. dont worry about them.
