Speaker replacement
I have an 03 extra cab.....Stock radio CD still works well...but I'm thinking the speakers are getting tired...
Found a new set of 4 on ebay that are supposed to fit and "plug n play"..... They are listed as 4 ohm ..... .Will that match my factory deck? Thanks |
Hello,
Just about anything will be an improvement. I just put some cheapish JBLs in that were 100 bucks for 4 speakers. They sound much better. The problem is that the truck is noisy due to the fact that it is a 2005 ford ranger standard cab manual windows, 5-speed. It's not a car that is going to sound great unless you do some improvements to the sound insulation. Not a bad idea but that's a bit of a project in itself. If I had to do it over again I would have maybe spent a bit more like maybe 130 on Amazon for 4 pioneers just to be sure that I have good enough speakers but I am inherently frugal Just don't get cheap speakers so I that you don't have to do it twice and also don't overthink it as it will only sound as good as your old noisy truck will let it. They also sell wire adaptors for ford trucks for the doors. The rear speakers I had to crimp on some new connectors. No big deal. If money is no object, I should have gone with the Infiniti Kappa speakers but still cheap JBLs are good enough. It's not a Mercedes. Good Luck BOB |

The original speakers should be 4 ohms which are standard replacement speakers as far as I know.
My original were 4 ohms and I replaced them with 4 ohms. Good luck Bob |
