Type of Amplifier for two Eight Inch Subs

This may sound like a stupid question, but I suppose I am a stupid person when it comes to making decisions--so it fits. I am going to put two 8" subwoofers in the rear of my truck, my 2003 Ford Ranger FX4 (Four Door) I was wondering about what sort of amp I should get. I was researching it and it completely boggled my brain: two channel, D Type, mono channel, voice coil subs, 60 watts verses 75, etc., etc.

I am a pretty smart kid, I have a 3.8 GPA and can probably talk for hours on the effects of Oxygen on the Ozone, F. Scott Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby, or even Nixon's involvement with the Watergate Scandal, but I cant seem to determine which the best route would be for my truck's stereo system.

I would like to use these Subwoofers:

And preferably a Sony Amplifier... the question is what type of Amp will best support two eight inch subwoofers?

Will either of these do the trick?

To make matters more complex I dont have an infident money to spend on it--probably in the $150-$200 range.

If that's the sub you want to run, then you need an amplifier that can put out around 440 Watts RMS. The 2nd amp you linked would work best. It's rated for more power than the subs are worth, but that means you can be real conservative on the gain settings. (That means a cooler running amp and better sound quality generally)

But why two 8" subs? More of a rock fan?

Oh yeah, I remember those threads now... But 8" will be great for mid to low bass, but no really low notes. 8" subs should be pretty fast and fluid though. Great for techno or rock, but not good for rap and any movie type bass.

12" sub should handle about everything. Of course a 15" can still handle deeper notes, but a 12 will cost less, and be able to handle faster beats. Of course those are just generalities based on the size. Brand and Model# will determine the rest.

Alright, I definately want bigger than 8"s, and I guess it would definately be worth the engineering. I am more of a rock type guy--so tens would be a pretty moderate choice. Plus, In all honesty theres not much of a price difference between the 8"s and the 10"s if I go the Sony route. I am gonna think on it

Actually those aren't bad subs for the money. I paid 40 bucks for a 10" P5 sub, and I believe bryan (bjv11) is still using it... I wouldn't brag about SPL with it, but it'll get the job done.
