will this plug in okay?

I want to buy a 7L5T-18C815-AC 6cd/mp3 player, I have a 2006 Ranger, I am pretty sure it will work, it has the same plug set up but it looks like there are more pins INSIDE THE PLUG AREA on the back of the new radio I want to buy. Right now I have a plain jane single cd am/fm 6L5T-18C869-AD.

I wouldn't put it in ship mode. Trent did that and it didn't work for the person that sent it to him.

When I got mine it was in regular mode with no packaging. Just a box with the deck in it. It works great.

I have always seen mixed statements on it.

Some have no luck when shipped in ship mode
Some they work just fine after it is in ship mode

I have seen people say something about a brace across the back being used to protect it

Here are the instructions of doing the ship mode if you so choose to do it

Turn the audio unit on and eject any CDs loaded in the audio unit.
Turn the key to OFF.
Press and hold presets 2 and 5, simultaneously.
While holding the presets, turn the key to ACC or RUN.
The audio display will flash SHIPMENT.
When the CD tray has parked, the audio unit will display SHIPMENT ON.
Turn the key to OFF.
Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to Section 415-01 .
Exiting Shipment Mode

NOTE: If the audio unit is removed, install the audio unit before beginning this procedure.

Turn the key to ACC or RUN.
Turn the audio unit on.
Press and hold the LOAD button for approximately 2 seconds.
The audio unit will enter loading mode, at which time the shipment mode will be exited.
Turn the audio unit off.
