need some sub advice

well i have been going with 10in subs for about 3 years now and i really like the way they do, i have had from kenwood to kicker...and the cvrs have been the best til i fired the voice coils somehow...so its time to move on and move up...i have a extended cab 2 door so the back cab wont be used for people so size does not matter, im looking for either 2 12s or maybe 15s...im really leanin towards 15s, few of my friends have 12s and they do ok, but after hearin a f150 with 2 punch stage 1 15s, im in love...i know they are not the best and not even the brand im lookin for...i found some comp 15s for $68 a piece and thats new in box im leaning towards them or MTX, also a Power Acoustik came up its cheaper then the comp and handles more power...anyone know anything about them or have some help for me on deciding...

i had power acoustics 12s in the fx series. the box took up the whole truck of my dodge neon that i had. the box was like 5.5 or 6 cubic feet. i had them on a power acoustic 3400 watt amp maxed out at 1 ohm. and they wouldnt bottom out what so ever. i won 2 competions with them. i hit 156.7 . it was loud really loud. but it took up the whole trunk, so no room for a cooler full of beer. but everyone including me loved them.
as the cheap subs u get what u pay for.

Yes the RFs arent that good the wurround will begin to crack and fail in the end. Have you checked out brands away from the consumer norm? TC, RE, FI, ID, AA the list keeps going...gotta price range? Just sayin there is a whole bunch out there.

i would really like to keep it under $150 a sub...and its funny i had a neon before i got my truck...fun little car anyway...i dont want to go real cheap, thats why kicker stayed in there, its jus the entry level comp, but i figured 2 15s would be plenty with a 400x1 amp since they are 250rms, i looked at FI and really liked them but the air space required kinda pushed me away...5 to 6 cubic feet is alot, the kickers need 2.5 ft max...and thats easy to get with the space i have...RF went down hill quite a few years ago...not even much on there amps anymore...jus some thoughts

Well the 150 dollar price range basically keeps you with entry Kicker stuff...15s from FI, SI, RE, TC and all them are not exactly cheap you know.

Friend of mine has 4 l7 8s in his tundra and they are bad, only problem is to push them right i would have to go a very big amp or run 2...which is what i was going to do...still looking at l5s and if the l7 come up cheaper then what i see them now i might go with 2 in a vented box
