The most important thing to look at is your impedance matching, especially when using DVC's. If u parrallel a DVC to 1 ohm and ur amp is rated to output 2 ohms, ur gonna run into some serious heat issues. Whats ur impedance when u bridge your amp? do u parallel or series ur coils? These are the first things u need to look at.

Haha leave for a while and come back and this thread delivers some lols... Well Idk anything about car audio... Just how to put speakers in my door.... The sub and amp I had are old as hell so an upgrade was due to happen.... Idk about the whole gain tuning thing because I had a shop install it...

you roasted your voice coil more than likely due to clipping it just so happened that it fried at the same time you changed out your headunit. and with CVR's there arent any companies that make recones and paying for one wouldent be worth it. id just buy anew one. but the reason that it playes at radom times is because roasted vioce coils realld insanely high or low impedances ex. .1 ohms-365ohms so your amp goes into protect.

haha im excited to see this one too ive seen some retards blow their stuff up by clipping the **** out of them on half of rated power so i guess thats where this theory came from lol. ex. gains maxed out bass boost maxed out loud on and bass turned up on headunit. sounded like straight crap too lol
