sub question..

i notcied today, when i was listening to Unk's "Walk it out", that when I opened the door to my truck the bass hit a LOT harder, same went for when i tried rolling down the windows. Is there a dynamic behind this? Is it because the air has nowhere to go when the cab is sealed?

it allows more air to move which means more vibration (sound is vibration) which means LOUDER

I noticed the same thing. When mine is in a building, and the radio is turned up, you can hear the bass like 20-30 feet away, but when its outside, you can't really hear it outside the truck. I recently made a new box, and increased its size from .66 to 1.0 airspace (which is max for sealed box with the kicker l5), and it was amazing how much deeper it made the bass. The sub is on the passenger side now, but it feels like its right behind you.

i guess thats just how small sealed boxes work since most of us have single or extended cabs you cant get the biggest boxes in the world

All these guys are correct. My 800W sub sounded weak until I rolled down my windows and man, I thought I went deaf. It makes a huge ddifference
