I have one Eclipse 12 in a small sealed box bridged to an older Alpine amp that's only pushing out 200 watts bridged.

i see my 12s pushing 450 "certified watts" which is important because brands like sony will sell amps that say 2000 watts and really only push around 600... the best way to see what your really pushing is to look on the side of your amp for the fuses and if your amp says its 1000 watts and it has 2 40 fuses then add a 0 behind the 40s and youll get 400+400 = 800 so if 801 watts pass's through the system the fuses will fry. so thats not really 1000 watts is it? but with brands like MMatts Kicker Alpine Fosgate ect ect they tend to be dead on.. like my buddy has 2 sony xplod 12"s and a 2000 watt sony amp and my single 12 blows his out of the water with a 450 watt amp.

Well that 2000 is the amps maximum bridged power at 14 volts and a 1 ohm load. I look at RMS power at 12 volts at a 4 ohm load. The got the sub for $50 on clearance. It's a surprisingly good sub but it's not DVC and it pulls a 4 ohm load.

i have 1 12" kicker comp sub with a cheap walmart 200w peak amp and surprisingly it sounds clear and hits hard enough for me

and it doesn't distort at high volumes it just hits harder and harder

i say that because i had a 10" sub in my car and it couldn't handle the power of my walmart amp thats how it died

Well I'm not looking to have extreme bass, Just good sound, and 3 6in's would be better space wise I think.

I haven't decided whether to do a few 6-ers or like one ten inch one, Im trying to keep both my jump seats. My friend said he'd give me a 12 and a box, (which I would most likely have to use my own box) for 30. So I don't know yet.

I made my own box for two 12's out of MDF and accomodated for the driveshaft. my amp slides in on the left side of the box like under it....ill try to get some pics for tomorrow. seats are still in there jack is still in there and don't even have to bracket it down because the driveshaft "hump" holds it in place. easy to take out when you want room jsut disconnect the amp and pick it right up
