Has anyone ever seen any thing like this? I have a reg cab and I dont think i can really work anything out to my liking. Any suggestions or pics?

If it is in the box then how could you hear it in the truck? Or is the point so everyone else hears your music?

 

Subs in outside toolbox = pointless. Unless you have normal speakers on the outside of your toolbox, and you never drive your truck and just hang in the bed to listen to music.

I mean, you could do it, but you wouldn't hear it in the cab very well, so it defeats the purpose.

 

I think he means with a blow threw into the cab.

My friend who has an S-10 has this.

It sounds really good. It can be done.

 

^wouldnt that kindof leave a big freakin hole in the back of the cab? too much tearing **** up if you ask me.

IMO that makes the truck not a truck anymore... you can hardly use it for its intended purpose... there are plenty of regular cabs w/ subs in 'em...

 

Well, I thought it was slick.... Lol, even though I would never do it.

On that short bed yota is pretty much ruins it, But on a ranger I wouldn't think it be to bad.. especially a longbed ranger.

But then again, how useful is a 4ft bed anyways.

 

It's definately dedication... I could totally see that in a mini truck but not a truck that's being used as one...

I don't understand you guys, whats the difference between having this and having just a bedbox? They take up the same amount of room, just you can't really get rid of it like you can a plain bedbox. So every truck with bedbox is now considered pointless?


My dads friend has a diesel F250 with one of these setups, except its under a hard tonneau and not inside any kind of toolbox. He tows the same model boat as this with it all the time and trailers for motard bikes.

That boat weighs over 11k pounds. So his truck isn't being used as a truck still? People buy trucks for different reasons then just putting stuff in the bed.

 

there are shallow mount subs that will fit fine, or you can do what one of the guys i work with did...get a cap, put a gasket between the cap and cab and cut out the back wall of the cab and stick 4 15s in the box and be heard from 5 min away haha.

 

A bed box can be removed when you need more space... if you cut a hole in the back of the cab that's not as much of an option... IMO it's stupid to cut a hole in your back wall but to each their own... chill

 

Most people don't a tool box tat takes up 1/2 the bed like in the Taco. Most peoples boxes are only about 18-24" deep or proportionate to the size of the bed..

 

But shallow subs mostly sound pretty bad. IMO.

And with a blow through you don't lose any leg room at all. It takes some dedication, but if you want to build a decent system, there's dedication involved.

 

not even. you should hear the boom my shallow mount kenwood puts out.

maybe it cost 200 dollars for a reason. but it sounds better then a lot of the normal subs that i've heard.

i have a fosgate in my single and it sounds fin plus i get a back massage from it
i know fosgate has a new slim sub that would allow you to keep leg room

 

dont do it, its a waste of a toolbox for those unlucky ones who dont have one!(ME!!!) if you have a tool box you use it for tools, straps, chains, etc. if you put subs in the back (which is fuking artarded!) it will rattle like hell after a while and the people next to you will not be your friends. subs are pointless unless inside a cab.
