Here's what I'm thinking. Tell me what you think about this setup.
  • Rockford Fosgate Punch P6002 150W x 2 Car Amplifier
  • Alpine CDA-9831 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver
  • Kicker 04TS10L7 Solo-Baric 10" Sealed Enclosure Subwoofer

Is that amp gonna be enough for the Kicker L7? I had a L5 and had 300 watts going to it and it pounded. Some people thought I had two in the truck. I need to get another one:)

Actually after doing some more looking around I found this amp, and it wasn't much more then the T600.

The L7 is rated for 1500 watts peak, and 750 watts RMS

So I found this last night after looking around. Rockford Fosgate T8002 2 channel 800 watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms

That sounds alot better suited for that sub. Better to have more flowing to it than less.

Thanks. Did you have any problems with your L5? I'm reading that some people are blowing their L7's up! Don't know if they are doing it or its just a bad speaker?

I had no problem at all, haven't heard any complaints from anyone on the other ranger boards about them. They rock, I am gonna get 2 for the box I am getting made one day.:) It was the deepest hitting sub I have owned:) Those being Alpine, Pioneer, Rockford Fosgate and the Kicker:)

Thanks I've been doing some checking around on sounddomain.com and it seems people are blowing their L7's somehow. Don't know if its their fault, the installers fault, etc.

Just don't want to drop $400 bucks on something that is going to blow two weeks after I get it.

Memphis Belle Amp (or Hifonics BX1500D & ZX6800)
Rockford Fosgate Power Stage 2 10"
Rockford Fosgate Power 6x8 components
Alpine CDA9835
I think this would sound better and be more stable.

Power handling ratings are useless. It depends mostly on the enclosure the driver is in. Never use them to judge whether or not to buy a speaker.
