Tips for building a 12" sub box

any tips for building a sealed sub box for a 12" speaker. Cause mine is a regular cab and i want to keep as much leg room as possible. I've never built my pwn box before so any helpful hints would be nice. thanks.

First up is - Get yourself a Router with a dual flute bit and an orbital cutter setup, a Skill Saw/Table Saw, and hopefully a thing of wood glue + silicon sealant and a sander, plus a drill bit w/ a countersink bit - those are your basics in tools for building a box of any type and making it functional and working.

Next, you need to do the math, or ask a member to punch in the numbers for a sized box based on teh requirements of whatever sub you plan on using - a 10" sub required .750+ cubic feet of internal room in a sealed box, a 12" is typically just a teeny bit larger. THen you design the box, get some good 3/4" MDF (DONT use plywood, ONLY MDF in a subwoofer construction).

THen draw it out, cut it up, seal it up airtight and get it all wired in + set up :-) Carpet if you wish, or jsut coat it in bedliner or something =)
