I got some Memphis tweeters for my truck and got one of them installed and it doesn't seem loud enough. I've got pioneer 4 way 6x9"'s in the doors. Its kinda hard to tell that the tweeters are there. I dont know, maybe my radio isn't adjusted right, although I dont know exactly how it should be for best sound. Is there a certain way they should be wired? Right now, i've got them spliced off the front speakers.

make sure they are wired right, tweeters are louder one way then another, try it and see, i have 4 spl tweeters and people complain...alot, both inside and outside the truck, could jus be the brand....spls are great and dont cost that much

from what i have found, it would be best to have a crossover dividing the signal into midrange and lowe freq for the 6x9's and run the higher freqs to the tweets.

The tweeters came with crossovers, and I have them hooked up too. All I did was hook red wires to + and black to -. It didn't come with any directions, at least I didn't see any. I got the other one in and finished up, and it seems better now, you can hear the highs better now, but its still not like the ones in my friends truck....his were louder.

Well as long as it has crossovers you can turn up the treble and see if that makes them any more noticeable. And hey did the mirrors get to you alright?

by the way i forgot in my first post, tweeters are not like speakers the sound does not travel well, they must be aimed at your ears for best results, i have mine mounted above the seat belt and 2 laying on top of my dash for better sound outside the truck

your most likely gunna blow up ur deck running them that way. and, for example, if your deck was pumping out 22watts rms, its going to divide that, so each speaker will see about 11 watts. most head units are not designed to be ran at 2 ohms, which i'm assuming you wired them parallel. your best bet, is just to get some component speakers with remote mount tweeters and run them off an amp at their suggested wattage.

another thing...high frequency's are directional, unlike lower ones. so your going to have to "aim" the tweeters twords your ears for the best results.

yea, they are fine.

yea, I mounted them on the upper corner of the door panels next to the dash, and aimed them to the person in the seats using the angle mounts. I changed the settings some, and you can hear the highs a good bit better now.

I had infinity kapps in my old ranger, I mounted mine by the mirror on the door, and I could definatley here them nice and crisp... but I had a lil troulbe like you did with the crossovers, wiring the 1st time I barley got any out, then I tired some more and got them doing well..

so what did you do to get them louder?

The sensitivity on your tweeters are probably lower than the 6x9's, making the 6x9's louder. Tweeters aren't supposed to be "loud", it's supposed to be equalized with the mids. If you can tell they are there at all then they are doing their job. Your setup works with the multi-way 6x9 and separate tweeter, but for a high-end setup you should go with a component set with a crossover system.

pretty much checked my wiring... made sure I had a nice connection, it was odd, my cousin was saying mine had a mind of their own...

To answer your main question; you can't simply make the tweeters louder. The only way to adjust it is if the crossover has a gain setting on it, but i'm guessing with just a set of tweeters like you have you just have a resistor as a crossover with no possible way of adjustment.

yea, I dont think there is a gain on it, it had some resistor looking things, some sort of glass tubing, and a micro chip or something, all in a box about 2"x3". It'll be fine though....I can hear the highs comming from the tweeters.

hook a amp to the tweeters, a small 100x2 or something, bet u hear it then, i had a 300x2 on 6 tweeters in my old neon...could not sit in there
