well if your going after SQ then get the jl w6v2. the type x is nice but it is a power hungry sub need to throw atleast 8-1000 rms at it. the L7 is nice i have had a few of them, but they tend to blow spiders and tinsel leads if you dont give then the desired rms. me personally right now for my desires i would go with the jl. but look into elemental designs 13 ov.2 it is a 12 and only a $175 with 5 year warrenty and a good SQ sub. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=35 they are the only subs i run in my vehicles from now on.

its the other way around. and i agree with the it's not all about the sub comment. either sub you go with get a jl 500/1 or alpine pdx 600.1 both a favorite of mine. but also along with that comment you have to remember NICE rcas, and proper tuning on the amp, and proper box built to speaker specs.

I like my 1-8" audiobahn....
(y'all can stop laughing now...)
For free it wasn't bad at all. I just need to sound deaden a few spots and then add the other one in an I'll keep it that way. Full use of the cargo area and stealth were my biggest selling points. :)
Good luck on what ever you go with, dude!

magnets dont really mean much in the performance of a woofer. some brands just like to advertise that they have big magnet because people will believe it makes a difference.
those look pretty decent. i dont think you will have too much low end on those though.
i just tested my friends new audiopulse (tc sounds) 10" woofer on 1200wrms and it didnt hit as low as a bigger driver (12" +) would.
it all depends on what you are looking for though

I fell in love with the Kickers from the first time i head them. Those damn leads break though, but if you know how to soldier decently (or know someone who does) they work just fine then. I've got mine with the sub and ports facing upwards on the the back of the box so the waves bounce all over hell and i dont get any noticeable distortion. Supposedly i'm pushing 400 rms to it (according to the amp specs) but i'll bet its only getting about 250 at most, but it bangs nice, loud, and clear.
I haven't heard the W6 or Type X, so i cant really help ya on those
