Where to mount tweeters, crossover?

Ok so I bought a set of components for my truck. T1682S off ebay for what I think was a pretty good deal considering the MSRP is 429.99$ and I got them for 125$. They arrived here yesterday and everything came with it, thank god. I moved the other RF's I had in the door to the rear and took out the stock ones. This is where my question comes in though.

Where is the best/easiest place to do a flush mount for the tweeters and where does everyone put the crossover? I have seen many different places for the tweeters such as on the door panel, on the dash, a-pillar, in the defrost vent, on the black panel next to the door handle. Which one is easiest to do, I'm willing to cut. I was thinking either a-pillar or on door panel. And what about the crossover, should I just put that in side the door somewhere? Any help or pictures of what you did would be helpful.

i would mount the tweeters like this....and if you have manual windows mount the crossover were the power motor goes....you should have plenty of room in the door with the manual windows......if you have power remote mount it somewere else in the cab and run the wires through the wire tube in the door! you could mount the crossover under the dash and strap it up under there.....

Yeah, I got power windows. That's why I was debating weather the crossover could go in the door. Also, as of right now I don't yet have an amp, but will be getting one soon, if that makes a difference. I was thinking of mounting the tweeters where you guys said to, so I'll probably put them there. Does it matter where the crossover is? I thought I read something somewhere that said you should have it as close as possible.

I'm not sure if anybody has done this yet, but I want to mount my tweeters in the black bezel on the top dash up near the windshield, so you don't just get all highs and not much mid bass. I was also thinking about mounting my crossovers in the glove box. My x-overs have level adjustments for the tweeters. So if i ever needed to adjust them, I don't have to tear my doors apart. Just my $.02...

it should be close as possible but with the power windows you would be hard pressed to get it in the door.....mount it under the dash 1 on each side for each door

I agree with mounting in the cab instead of the door. Mainly because if you have any moisture in the door it can ruin the X-over in time. I've seen X-overs pulled out of doors that are rusted and don't even work at all, but no telling how long they were in their.

ive got two sets up infinity kappa perfect 6.1's one 6.5" driver is in the door, the other in a fiberglass kickpanel i got the crossovers under my false floor i built for my sub/amps and i have two leads, one for the drivers wired in parallel and the other for the tweet....each running to each door. haveing the crossovers way back doesnt make a damn bit of difference IMO.

I'm with RangerBoy02FX4. I can't count how many competition vehicles I've seen (in mags) that the x-over is in the trunk or whatever.

Thanks for the advice, I went for the door panel. I think it came out pretty good.

Ended up putting the drivers side crossover in the door where that happened to be a lot of room, and the passenger one in the glovebox. All in all relatively easy to do.
