Where to mount amps ...

Hey all ... new to the Ranger, but old skool when it comes to audio systems.
So, i just sent my old car to the wreckers, and I want to put it's stereo into my new(er) truck.
I have a '02 Ranger X-Cab XLT
Here's what I have for stereo components:
Sony GT-51W Head Unit
XM-4045 4ch amp
XM-10020 2 ch amp (bridged to mono)
.5F capacitor
2x 5 1/4" 2way Rockford Fosgate Punch Speakers (fronts)
2x 6 1/2" 3way Sony Speakers (rears)
1x 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch Sub
assorted cables and hookups.

Now the problem I think I'm gonna have (I haven't looked since it's like -20c outside) is Where to mount the amps and sub.
my last car, I just put the amps ander the seats and the sub in the hatch
Stereo into the dash is no problem, I've already got the adaptor plate and wiring.
I still need to use at least 1 of the rear sets.
I was thinking of getting one of those "Truck Sub" boxes to drop in behind my driver seat, and that might work for me, but still where to mount the amps.
Any pics of your set-ups would be great!
Thanks

I have a amp under each seat.

I didn't wanna put them out in the open and get them stolen

I put my subs in boxes and I was able to unhook them when one of the jump seats needed to be used

I wanted to put mine under the seats but my mono amp didn't fit. so I think I might build some sort of false floor for the back, it'll level the floor out and have a good spot for an amp on each side of the center hump.

Parry Sound, your pretty close to me.

I am putting in my system today, I ran all the cables yesterday now I just need to figure out where to mount stuff, and whether or not to put my capacitor in since it has a blue led strip that is on even when your truck is off and your gone, it stays on and will attract theifs

Thanks guys ...
Yeah, I'll definitly check out mounting them under the seats. This time though, I gonna mount them on a sheet of plexi so the damp in the carpet doesn't mess them up. I noticed when I pulled them from my last car that there was surface rust starting from being on the carpet.
I like the idea of the removable sub box, and since I have only 1, I shouldn't have too many issues with needing to remove it often.
I like the wiring job you did there STL, very clean. Good job.
Yeah, Nate, I am not too far away, I do often drive around Lindsay (at least during the summer)
I drive BigRig for a living and am often using Hwy 7 to 35 to 115 to get to the 401 from Bracebridge.

I have a small 10 inch sub and its in a small rectangular box, and the amp is mounted on the opposite side of where the sub is. its nice because the wires go to the sub an inch from where the amp is

I built a box for my rear floor to level it out when hauling stuff. I dropped both amps and the wiring into it. A pic of the final product is here at reply number 40. I don't know where the build-up for it is. I'll have to look. Hope this provides extra insight.

My Ranger is an Extended cab but no drop seats... just side compartments where I installed the amps into. Keeps them hidden and easy to access. I have Pioneer all the way around.
DEH-4000UB
6x8 4-way in doors with baffle shells to keep water from decaying the baskets
6x8 2-way in rear
1 10" Sub in Scosche sealed enclosure
2 Scosche 300w, 2-ch amps for door and rear speakers with High-pass
1 Boss 200w, 2-ch amp for sub; bridged and running reverse phase.
I used a low power sub because no matter how I tried to define my bass, it was just too strong for my liking, even though the head unit have a wide range of settings. The smaller amp provides just enough power for my tastes. I never listen to my music loud to disturb others, but I like the full definition and support a sub adds. I am waiting on a pair of tweeters (Pioneer) to finish out my sound. I plan on taking photos of it soon and will show what I have and where it was placed.

Here is how I had mine. The wires are kinda messy in the pics because I hadn't cut the slack in them off yet

I built a platform for the sub out of scrap wood so it had a level floor to site on. I kept under the platform open in the front so I could mount an amp there.

The sub amp mounted under the sub platform.

Here is my amp for the door speakers, I mounted it under the drivers seat.

If you need a place to put your remote sub amp level then here is an idea. My cig. lighter was broken so I put the level for the sub in its place. It looks factory and people always thought it was real cool when they found out what it was.

Nobody can sit in both jumpers at the same time anyways comfortably.

I am about to build a new setup thought mounted in the middle of the back wall most likely.

I like the setup of my Tremor's sub. Even if I didn't have the tremor I would try to find the enclosure because of how well it fits and looks in the ranger.

I dont think I ever took a pic but on my 99 ex cab I had matching Kenwood 300w amps mounted to the plastic bottom of my rear flip seats. With the seats up you could see the two amps all nice and clean.....but whenever I went out someplace that I was worried about window shoppers I would just flip the seats down and you never knew they were there.
I didnt use a sub box though, all that power was for my JL Audio component set in my front doors. With two 6" drivers and a pair of highs I never needed any more bass than it made!
