well its kind of a long story. i used to drive an old volvo, and when i bought it, the first (and only) thing i did was install 2 Audiobahn 12's with 400 watts rms each. not the best but good enough for me. well i sold the car to an ex-girlfirend and gave her the subs with it. well we are still good friends and she had taken the box out of the car so she could have more trunk room. so last week.. she calls me and tells me that if i want the subs i can have them for free! so i was like heck yeah... but there is one catch, whenever she took the subs out... she said that they had quit working and she didnt know why. i asked her if the amp had power going to it. she said that it did and i was skeptical as to if she knew what she was talking about. well she told me later that the same amp was being used to power the system in another car... so i was like dang, maybe the subs blew. so ive heard that subs can be repaired and i need to know where to get them fixed. do regular audio fix them or what? and yes just to let everybody know.... i am gonna test both subs on a friends amp before i do anything else. lol. well thx for any help or intput. c yall later

Audiobahn.....not worth fixing. It would be easier and cheaper (probably) to buy a set of good subs. I got a set of Diamonds on ebay for $150....well worth it.

It will probably cost more to fix them and they may still never work right. Cheaper to buy brand new subs.

Depends on what needs to be done. A torn surround can occasionally cause a sound similar to a burnt voice coil. While I personally would not bother repairing a torn surround, it can be done, and usually inexpensively at that. A voice coil on the other hand, unless it is a high end driver it won't be worth the expense. Figure out what is wrong, then weigh your options.
