Icon5 Wired Stereo Wrong ?!

Okay , i bought a head unit a couple of months ago and i matched the wire colors and when i plugged it into the factory harness the battery drained over night . After install the backlight for the stereo was on. when i shut the ignition off and pulled the key out the backlight was still on which means there was still power getting to the head unit ... What was done wrong ... and what can i do to fix it

Did your new harness come with a color code indicator? Sounds like you just eyeballed it, I would take a second look cuz you probably have something backwards.

you didn't happen to get the harness from crutchfield did you? Same problem I have with my new head unit, only I'm at swa and dont need the truck while I'm gone so I just disconnected the batt til I get home week after next.

I have the wiring harness color code with me and the plug and play color code from crutchfield and they say they are fine, what I would really like is a wiring schematic for the 2003 edge dash with the factory 6disc radio if anyone has it. I may get an answer for both of us before I get home. otherwise I will be sure to check back to this one often..

You can't just match the colors. Get a wiring diagram and compare it to the wires of stereo harness and wire it up that way.

Probably wired your Power-On (switched 12+) into your Memory (constant 12+) and vise-versa.

Double check your wires. The plug into the truck harness should have the wires labeled
