I would prefer polk. Iv had them for years for car audio, and home audio! I love them with the clear high's and decent lows!
Adding my Rockford Fosgate components in! very clear!! enough said

i have pioneer and panasonic in my truck, it sounds clear and has so thump to it, since i have no subs, but they are both pretty good; not top of the line but mid range

I read that really fast, and I read it like this, "I've had them for 4 years..." I thought you were being nifty using roman numberals...I need some fresh air...

aomw of the top brands are cdt, focal, rainbow, diamond are good, boston acoustics high end models, some others
i love my rainbows i have now, amped off 85rms per side, great midbass, very detailed highs, over all very nice, but expensive

dont not get infinity, i will never own another pair of infinity door speakers, midbass wasnt there, some where in the speaker a little part sent all the power for the midbass to the tweeter, so all you heard was tweeter, they needed alot of eq to sound decent

couple things to help door speakers, deaden the door panels with dynomat or the likes, seal the holes(try), amp them and they should sound really good

if it was me i would spend more money on 1 pair of nice components, nothing bestbuy or circuit city carries, check ebay for some diamond hex series, or rainbows or mb quart , focal a lot of them

i only have my rainbows in my truck, i have the back stock speakers cut off, and it sounds great bt i have a sub so who knows, i cant hear the words half the time because it sounds like when your talking in a fan with your voice all jumbled from the sub but i like it :)

I've always loved Polk (mid to upper level, no experience with their base stuff) My current set has definitely be well punished and still sound great! I recommend you get into stereo shops and listen to as many as you can, that's the best way to see what you like.
