Best Tire Shine?
Hi all. I have a new set of rubber on thr ground, and I'd prefer they stay new looking and shiney until they're bald..
So whats the best tire shine out there? Cost is not an issue. If it's super shiney and stays for a while, I'd shell out 6 or 7 bucks for a bottle if it was the sh*znit! So let me know! I know you guys and gals wont steer me wrong! |
meguiars hot shine in the arosol can personally
|
Stoners, last for weeks and withstands the elements. i havent found it at any auto parts houses but a quick search online showed u can buy it direct from stoners.
|
i generally use all meguiars stuff, but for my tires i use black magic tire gel. i apply it with a foam applicator. it lasts quite awhile, and it doesn't pick up much dirt and dust over time either.
i think the more important step to keeping a tire looking new is actually cleaning the tire. sometimes people will wash their vehicles, and then reapply tire dressing. it builds up and gets nasty over time. i use a meguiars tire scrub brush that has stiff inner bristles and soft outer ones, so it doesnt damage the wheel. i'll generally spray the tire with some tire cleaner/degreaser and scrub the heck out of it, then i'll dry em and apply the tire dressing. |
When I wash, I just use car shampoo to clean the tires and follow up with No-Touch "satin"
|
meguiars for sure.. it shines for ever. the only thing i dont like about it is that is sticky when you first put it on and you have to let it sit for awhile.. its good stuff though
|
Westley's Bleech White to clean the tires. Even if you don't have white lettering, it does a damn good job of removing rubber oxidation.
To shine, I like Meguiar's Endurance tire gel. It's easiest to apply with a foam applicator, although it's a PITA when you're on the tire's shoulder. It lasts a long time, but is sticky like their aerosol, so it needs time to dry. After driving through the rain, you can still tell that something's there. |
Stoners is like a silicone, but it takes no time to dry and when it gets on wheels it disappears. i use it for my bumper trim and plastic as well.
i like it because overspray doesnt show...cuz like other aresols when it gets on a freshly cleand/polished wheel...it makes a mess...ya know? |
I Like Meguier's NXT Tire Shine, Sticks To The Tire And Stays Shiny For A Long Time, And It Is Not Messy. For The Overspray I Have A Piece Of Cardboard Cut Out Into The Size Of My Wheel and I Hold It Over My Wheel Tp Protect Against Overspray.

The best tire shine is definately turtle wax tire wax.....hard to fine...it actually dries on the tire like a wax and stays for weeks without flying off
|
Actually ONYX is the best tire shine I have used. Shines forever and doesnt come off in puddles and rain.
|
LOL......and to think I was the only one with the cardboard cutout for my rim...LOL I guess great minds DO think alike!! I forget who makes the stuff I use, it comes in what looks like a Windex bottle, and the liquid is clear....called Tire Wet or something....works awesome and keeps 'em black for weeks.
Not sure if you have raised white lettering on your tires, but I just use soap & water with a scrub brush to get the grime off the lettering......definatly a must!! I hate seeing tires with faded out lettering....just looks like crap. |
Imma have to try the cardboard thing, it would make things easier that's for sure.
|
my dad and I just use plain old armour all and an aplicator pad....
