clay bar

so after washing my f150 a couple times and feeling how rough some spots on it were, i decided to head to wally world. picked up the Megs clay bar kit. came w/ 2 clay bars w/ a case, quik detailer spray, cleaner wax, and a big microfiber. took about 2 hrs to clay the whole truck, takin breaks every 30 min, and it feels SOOOO much better. the roof, hood, and tailgate where the worst. i also picked up some megs NXT gen tech wax 2.0 that im fixn to use. i would highly reccomend the claybar kit. if my 2007 was that bad, just immagine how yalls trucks are. even if you wash it w/ good soap it still doesnt get the enviro. contaminants off. and can anyone tell me about the megs cleaner wax? it says to do the whole truck then let it dry. idk how good of an idea that would be. im under a carport but theres a lil sun comin underneith. at least its nice and cool outside.

I use the same stuff, and I just do a section at a time then wipe it off. I thought the same thing as you when I read the directions.

Its crazy how much claying can make a difference, I need to finish doing mine. Make sure to wax after you clay though as it strips off the wax.

Yep, I bought the Magic Clay Bar first and was hooked. I wasn't happy with the size of the Megquire's size clay bar for the $20 kit price tag.
It dose what it says but adds a hour or two to the detail time.

i clay bar'd mine today the hood feels like a piece of glass now...also a friends truck got some over spray from some spray painting he was doing in a garage and i clay bar'd the area where the over spray was and it took it right off, also if your windows are rough you can clay the windows and it smoothes them out...no point really just makes them nice and smooth

Depending upon the paint correction needed, this is what I use:

Meguiars 105
Meguiars 205
Chemical Guys Scratch and Swirl Remover
Chemical Guys P40

Then I follow it up with one or more of the following:

Jetseal 109
Meguiars 21
Wolfgang Sealant 3.0
Chemical Guys 5050
Pinnacle Souverän (Paste)
Meguiars NXT 2.0

Nothing like clay bar used it on mine twice a year spring and fall. I worked at the Ford foundry and the stuff that came out of the stacks was h_ll on the paint job. Clay bar cleaned it right up and 2 coats of Nu Finish 30 days apart and I always had one of the best looking vechicals in the lot. And the finish stayed fairly smooth.
