Cleaning the belly of my baby...

Would simple green work? or what should i use to get all that grime and dirt and what not? And it shouldnt mess anything up should it?

ManEHawke 06-15-2008 10:47 PM

Won't mess anything up. It would be gravy if you got you hands on a pressure washer after spraying it, then that undercarriage will be spotless. :biggthump

just so happens that i own me a prssure washer and im gettin ready to rent a vurry high power one to do the house with.. will the high power one be too high powered? The guy at home depot said it would take the paint off of my house so...

but hey thanks for the response I was thinkin it was gonna go unanswered for a second there haha.

you should be able to turn the pressure down, just adjust it to where its about as powerful as a car wash sprayer, either way i don't see it hurting anything under the truck if you can't adjust it.

i spent $5 at a car wash and got all of the mud out from under my truck AND the outside.
it had chunks of mud on the outside and the underside, now its spotless.

Spray the undercarriage with simple green, let it soak a little, hit it with the pressure cleaner (the frame has that wax coating stuff on it so I would go with something not very strong), pick up a few cans of the cheapest black spray paint you can find, and start spraying the black paint on the undercarriage. It will look brand new if not better.

I started to do mine and you can see in this picture

So i can spray paint up under there!!?? hell yea can I do the frame yellow? or random parts or would that be stupid ?

korey89 06-16-2008 12:48 PM

I didn't do the frame, I just did all the suspension stuff and the axle and driveshaft. I would stick to black lol.

What i use when im able.... Take one of those pesticide sprayers..they one with the hand pump and the wand you hold...Mix up some strong simple green and hot water...and spray everything you can then get out the pressure washer after it soaks for like 15-20mins. Repeat it if you need to. You can also get some cans of cheap foaming tire cleaner and do your shocks and what parts you can spray...just dont get it on your brakes.
