cleaning carpet options
 

hey guys so ive been looking and researching on what is the best way to clean the inside of my cobra and her rangers carpet. ive read about the bissel auto care heat pro, and the little green machine, but the general consensus is that the little green machine is ****. lol
would it be better to just use a spray bottle full of hot water with cleaner and a scrub brush and just wet vac it out, ot actually spending the 100 bucks for the bissel auto care pro heat?

the best way is to remove it out of the vehicle, wash it, and let it dry. fully. the jute padding on the back will hold water and eventually mold. when we do flood cars, or just cleaning carpets in general, we replace the carpet padding with new. it's cheap. we use laundry detergent along with some lysol to kill any odors.

i washed the carpet in my wife's car. I took it down to the car wash and did it there. but you have to let it dry completely or you will have problems down the road.

i would get yourself a can of tuff stuff and a hard brisseled scrub brush and go to town after scrubbing take a wet vac and itll do work for you i detail cars on the side and thats all i use

I did a bit of research on this and this is what I ended up doing. I went with Fabric Clean from Chemical Guys. It was only $10 for 16oz and although that doesn't sound like a lot but the mix is a 20:1 ratio (mix in spray bottle). They also offer a brush attachment that fits on your cordless drill to make things easier. Spray it wait a few minutes and use the brush attachment to agitate it. I used a shop vac to extract excess cleaner. Did an awesome job and smell really nice. More citrus based than chemical smell. Works really well on cloth seats as well.

That's basically what I did on a very hot summer day, only I used Simple Green and Tide.

Simple green rocks. Really can't hurt anything with it even full strength.
