cleaning and polishing Alt. pwr steering A/c brackets

So i started to take my engine apart as im goin to rebuild it and decided i would try to polish the brackets but after i sand it down i want to be able to keep the shine with out having to clean it every week . What would the best way to keep the shine with out having to clean it all the time?

Paint them with one of the Duplicolor specialty paints.

I did the front grill of my 93 with leftover wheel paint. Looks better.

Take it to a company that does it. I'm sure it could be mailed in if there is noone local.

there are books on how to do it yourself. My memory of the process- you dip the aluminum in an acid bath to open the pores. then dip it in dye (the same dye you use for clothes, then dip in in cold water to close the pores.

You can always have it chromed. I polished some stuff under my hood but the time to do it and havng to keep polishing it if you drive it alot is a bear. I would look at chrome or anodizing it. much easer up keep that way.
