easiest way to clean headlights!

Well I've seen videos on here about how I just need to get a buffer and this other stuff and put a bunch of time in, and then I'd have good clean headlights. Another guy told me I should use some rubbing compound and it'd all clear off (doesn't work btw).

Anyways today I was online and looking for a way to clean them, I found some guy saying that Megiures PlastX works well. So I jumped in the truck and headed to the part store, got back and tried it. Since the guy had also said to use a foam applicator I bought one of those too. Tried it out and WOW does this stuff work well. Took ~5 per headlight and left them just like new. Then I walked over to my moms Mercury and tried it on her filthy headlights that no one thought could be cleaned and just needed replacement headlights, same story again. This stuff works just so good.

So if you're wanting an easy way to clean your headlights, go stop by your auto part store and pick up some Megiures PlastX cleaner and a foam applicator thing, best $7 I've spent on my truck yet.

So were your headlights yellowed or just dirty or what? I usually wax mine when I clean the truck but mine aren't yellowed either so.....

They just had the grime on it that doesn't come off with washing or anything else. Then on the Mercury the lights were pretty much yellowed minus the yellow color, just super foggy.

Keep them waxed, and you won't have to do that again

I just used Arm and Hammer baking soda toothpaste.

Sounds like some good ideas. I will have to give some of these a try the next time I go to the auto parts store!

Thanks,
