They will give you a free rental car if they have to clearcoat it overnight with proper prepping.. so dont worry too much, perhaps see if they can do the pickup/drop off.. where they drive a rental to you, and drive your truck back.. or trailer it back, either or - may be worthwhile to ask.

have any pics? it could just be oxidation which can easily be removed but since no pics then we cant really tell. But a clear coat shouldnt be fading this fast even in Texas weather.

solid little pickup youve got!!

i would just let the dealership have a look at it anyway... brand new truck shouldn't have any flaws!

its hard to tell what it is by the pics... but from what you say about washing it does sound like oxidation/ rail dust... But to be safe and since it should still be under warranty Id take it to the dealer.

how are you washing it? if you use a mit on dirt like that you can even F-up paint that new...

i hope you use a pressure washer from the proper distance first. it honestly looks fine from those pics, Id try a claybar and 3 stage waxing by HAND not machine.

if you keep doing this your nice black paint isnt gonna look very good when you go to wash it, especially if you are not pressure washing it first

like mentioned, if you do alot of wheeling, that is gonna eat away the clear. wax it. i gave mine a coat in the late spring. i'll probbably give it another coat in the next few weeks.

it's on the bedrail, do you load alot into the bed by the way of the sides? rubbing would cause that clear to wear down too. do yourself a favour and get a bed liner including the bedrails.

yeah i wash at carwash right afterwards everytime put the quarters in then hose off good havent used a mit just the big brush at the car wash and i make sure its clean and free off debris. it cleans up good but that oxidation crap is still on the drivers door. i wash then hand dry then use the spray detailer ICE is the brand i like it alot. but im also in el paso so two days later its covered in 4 inches of dust again and its been raining alot. i am getting it rhino lined the next time i go home the guys gona do it for 250 i dont know how low to go though im thinking the body line on the bed because that seems to be where the scratches stop. my truck gets used so the beds already all messed up and the bed rails getting there lol o well and my mirror is still MIA havent gotten insurance money yet.

Not so sound like an *** but your saying that mud, water, sediment will eat paint quicker than acid rain? Last I checked most wheeling spots do not go through nuclear waste. in my town we have two large coal burning power stations producing a assload of acid rain and it gives all of us cancer... my truck is still looking brand new even with the acid rain around here. As I said before dont take it the wrong way.

As for the OP see if you cant go back to the dealer since it is new... talk to them you need to let them know.
