Dealer applied protection package

Dealer applied protection package
Has anybody had that protection package applied that the dealer is always trying to push on you? After getting some run-around from the dealer on another issue, they agreed to comp this for me. They call it the Strikeforce 3 pkg. It basically includes undercoating, paint sealer, and upholstery protection. They claim you shouldn't even need to wax your vehicle for up to 5 years. It's not something I would have paid for as they want $999 for the whole pkg, but since it's free why not? Just curious if anyone has ever had it done, and if it works as good as they claim? Especially the paint sealer.

that stuff is a ripoff i know the dealer that i work love to try and sell that. And you still need to wax it on a regular basis just not as much...for example i wax my truck every 1-2 months but if i had that it would be every 3-4. They just put a liquid coating on the paint...i would just get the interior if possible...that will help a little...the outside is a total joke though

Show me a wax that you can apply to paint that will last 5 years... no, clear coat does not count. Id never let a dealer "apply" their services to my paint or undercarriage. Im not paid to detail cars but I do a helluva lot better than those douche bags. Im trying not to stereotype because I do know there are some good people who actually know how to properly wax a vehicle at a dealership. For that kind of money go buy your own DA, some pads and a good wax and do it yourself.

Id just go for the undercoating then... you cant eff that up. Those guys will instill holograms, swirls, and small scratches in the paint. Even though I never detailed professionally I had guys coming to me to get those awful paint irregularities out. Why do a job twice when it couldve been done right the first time.

I would let them do the undercoating ONLY. That's good to do but not really a need in automobiles today. It may be ok for a little bit of soundproofing but it will wear away. These additional protection options are BS as well as the ******, salesmen at the dealers trying to sell it robbing your pocket. (I know they told you it is FREE but they lie lie lie figuring it in the price somehow) Car salesmen=*****. Seriously.... DO NOT let them touch the paint/exterior!! Tell them to give you the difference in $$$ except for the undercoating.

my tuck came with the undercoating, and its like partys, its a love hate thing, i love that my frame isnt rusted over since i live at the beach and rust is starting other places, but i hate it because the stuff is like soft roofing tar if your ever under the truck to work on something the **** will come right off and onto your hands or clothes
