issues with cleaning my wheels

does anyone have any tips on cleaning my moto metal m0951 rims? I have been trying to find out the best products to use but i have had no luck. I don't know if they are powder coated or not. Everytime i go to clean the wheels the pits seem to scratch the glossy black finish. i am looking to not only find a good cleaning product but something to minimize the pits.

Simple Green works great on wheels.

x2. are you havint break dust issues too? as for minimizing, try waxing your wheels, i do it on my car and its pretty nice

Well my wheels are starting to pit and I've only had them like 6 months. I'm not sure if the wheel cleaner I'm using is wrong but I guess I'll have to go to autozone and check out their selection

sorry to break the news but theres pretty much no return after pitting lol. theres a huge issue here in oregon with the de-icer they use during winter because it kills wheels in about 2 weeks. i had some chrome 20's on my silverado they were done for after a month.

in cali thats no issue haha but the pitting is very minimal so i would just like to contain it as much as possible. my wheels being powder coated which spray on cleaner and wax should i be looking for?

fourliter dan Aug 14, 2010 11:35 PM

simple green will clean it, and i would probly go with a liquid wax and be very therough(spelling?)

darangerdanger Aug 14, 2010 11:40 PM

thorough dan lol. come on i'm half a bottle of tequila down and i can still spell fine!

and i agree with you there if the pitting isnt TOOOOO bad simple green and some liquid wax should at least help a bit. or get a mothers brand powerball and go at it until you can see yourself :) lol
