oxidized 04 ranger
alright, ya kno, maybe its just me, but my hood looks like its oxidized, and i have tried everything on it to bring it up... maybe its just a different color, but my driverside front fender, when i clean it with that 3m rubbing compound, comes out awsomely, nicer than when it was new, however my hood, leaves a bit to be desired, like, when u look at it, it looks fine, but when u get up close and personal it doesnt look "clear" like the roof of my truck or any other part of the truck, looks to me like its oxidized, any ideas...?
oh ya and i tried a buffer on it.. OMG what a DISASTER that turned out to be.... i think ill leave the buffing to the people that know how to use it heh

Im wondering if the premature hood oxidation has to do with the powerdome hood being fiberglass?

i dunno, its a "professionals" polisher buffer..... dad says its like, $300 new or something... i didnt burn threw it, i did that on my car, and man did that suck...
i also get oxidation on top of the front corner panel, and rubbing compound makes it "clear" again, tho my hood... well u know.... as far as the material goes, the hood itself in steel but the underside, the reinforcement is a cross between steel and fiberglass depending on where u put your magnet... and the roof is fiberglass..... yet no seam as to where the fiberglass ends and the steel body starts
