Best Cleaner/Polisher for 16in OEM

What cleaner and polisher should I use to clean the rims on 2003 xlt supercab that are 16 OEM's. Are these aluminum or alloy or is that the same thing. There are some slight surface scratches on them and I would like to polish them out. Let me know what you think people?

Since they are painted & clearcoated treat them just like regular car paint.

Use some simple green to clean and some wax or whatever you like. Aluminum polish will only damage the clearcoat on them.

do you really think so? How come, just wondering your reasons. On the back of the mothers aluminum polish says not to use on painted metals

Aluminum polish is made for polishing metals, not paint, and since the wheels have paint on them it's not made for that.
