So, how is it dirty?

If it is really bad scatched up and stuff, you could always wet sand all of it, then clear coat it.

Ya, it's faded and weathered pretty much. If I can't salvage it...I might just lose the thing completely. Gonna try to see what I can do. What #grit paper would be satisfactory for the job?

I would say anywhere from 1500 to 2000 should be just fine.

I know that wet sand+clea coat will work, but im not sure about anything else.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with something.

EDIT: Or you could sand and get some black Krylon Fusion.

lol, I was thinking about that as I was repainting my lower valance today.
