Icon5 Removing middle consule with dual cup holders

First off, not sure what thread to put this in.

I have a 2001, is there anyway to remove that (black) middle console with the two cup holders? Any easy way to remove it. Any screws i have to take out?

yeah. there should be two small screws on the rear one on each side...remove those then remove the arm rest and there is one screw there. there are two other screws under those cup holders. to get the cupholders out simply push towards the front of the truck from the back on the top rear part of the cupholders and it should pop off.

Are you trying to get rid of it? i have one but im missing some stuff and would like to get a complete one...

does it look like this? but with the arm rest above it?

at the back beneath the hinge for the arm rest are two oval covers, behind which are two bolts on either side. This removes the arm rest. next you can pop the cupholder piece off and under that I believe is a screw or two, and Im pretty sure I have to unscrew the interior piece that makes up the storage area, and under there was some screws.

If you are talking about the small min console by your feet then you have to lift up the rubber bottoms from the cupholders and there is one big plastic strew in each you just turn with a flat head adn then you can pop it off.

yeah like i said, there is a small rubbber piece that lines the bottom of each cupholder, and is kinda glued down. You have to peel it up from the eadge and then underneath that isyour key to removal.

Thanks for the replies guys. If anybody has anymore suggestions. Please let me know.

hey "99offroadrngr", the mats are a complete life-saver. But I think its time to get a new set. Had them for over 5 years.

ClemsonRanger03, on each holder there's a plastic ring that seems like it supports the cups in there. Took it out and i see nothing with a rubber piece. hummm. I'll look more into it.

The reason for the removal of the cup-holder is because the "Max A/C" wont work when I have the air on. I posted up the problem yesterday and I heard that it might be a vacuum problem behind there and when the air is completely in the "off" position; air is coming out on both sides as i drive. Really weird. Sound familiar to anybody?

the rubber piece looks invisible. On mine the whole bottom of the cupholders was lined with a rubber piece. I have to did down in the edge and peel it up. At first it doesnt seem that way, but if you feel the bottom it feel like rubber, and the sides dont. You were right to pull those adjustable sides out that will make it easier. It may be hard, try to stick a flathead down in the edge to pry it up.

Once you take off the cup holder you will see a smaller black peice of plastic screwed to the floor. If you take that off, you will see a hole through the carpet about the same size.
