Removing side moldings....

I have these stupid side door moldings on the side of my truck, I want to take them off, I know you use a heat gun. But since my truck is 12 years old once I get the area free of glue and everything, will it be noticeable where the moldings were?

Yes the paint is probably faded really be bad. I was hoping it was going to be real bad when I removed all the giant graphics that were down the side of my truck since it was new. Well 12 years of sun light and age does a toll on it. The fade won't look so bad when the truck is all clean and shinny, you can barley see it, but the second it gets barley dirty you can see it for miles. I'm gonna try some paint restorer on it soon and try buffing the truck and that might help but I have my doubts.
