removing sticky crap

I picked up a full length explorer console and the cup holder part has a lot of sticky junk in/on it. i poured goo-gone in there and let it sit for about 45 minutes while i re-wrapped the lid to the console in black pleather and it still doesn't come off. did it not work because its about 30* outside?

What should i try to remove it? im currently scuffing the whole console with a scotch brite pad because goo gone didn't seem to take out the stains it ahd on the sides either.

thanks.

WD-40 will work.

Kris03 02-08-2012 03:07 PM

haha. so now back to the junk yard to pick up cup holders. probably be easier than trying to scrap that crud off

Another thought.
Goo Gone?
Simple Green?
Soak it in some crap.

01RangerEdge 02-08-2012 05:06 PM

I basically let mine soak in brake cleaner fluid and WD40, I got it all finally. It was a mess though
