searched but coulnt find....how to get pine sap off

Yesterday, i noticed that i have a drop of pine resin/sap about the size of a dime on the roof of my truck. I want to get it off! will wd-40 or some kind of oil work for this like they do for reg. sticky stuff; or will that harm my paint? Or does that bug and tar crap that comes in a bottle work. Any homemade remedies....any help would be great here, i just wanna get the crap off!

i searched yahoo, and someone suggested vegtable oil and soap.....i dk, i just want the crap off before it spots my paint!

I've had good results with WD40, or the bug and tar. Might want to rewax after though.

Pretty much any oil base will work for what you want to do, you may have to do it a couple times, but let it soak for a while to allow the oil to get into the sap.
