tire shine

anyone have any suggestions for a good tire shine? i need some nice stuff for the benz that will not get slung all over the side of the car

Are you looking for a real wet look or just to black the tires? My favorite on my truck has to be the Armor All Tire Foam, turns the tires nice and black and doesn't leave a lot of residue on the tires. I have this Eagle One Tire Spray that works good too, makes them look more wet and still doesn't sling. Then I have this Black Magic Titanium Tire Gel, I hate the stuff cause if you bump against the tires it turns you black. It makes them look super wet but it will sling if you don't let them sit for a while. I found if you wipe it off after it looks and works much better.

Me too, makes life so much easier on a aggressive tire with a lot of tread. I forgot to say I'm using the Meguier's Hot Tire Shine, it works good, has a adjustable knob for all the different size tires which is good if you own different vehicles. I like it but prefer the Armor All better.

Stoners tire shine is the s*** FTW check that stuff out

Mcguires is good too armor all is not to good in my opinion it makes the tires dry rot and crack I think

Hum never had a problem with the Armor All, used it on my stock tires and my BFGs

I used a bottle of Zaino Perfect tire gloss once. I liked it because it left the tires a nice dark satin black. Not shiny cheesy, but just perfect lol. The stuff is expensive, so I've used armor all recently.
I just got a bunch of bottles of Just Once for my bedliner, will have to try them out on my plastics, and tires to see how good they work on them.

Most spray ons work great just make sure u have like an hour or 2 to let it really dry and set in. Do it before u go to bed by morning nice and shinney

i use bleach white and a brush to get in the groves, spray on and scrub, all done...i did it today to my buckshots and they look like i jus bought them

Armor All Tire Foam, I do it once a month and it keeps them looking fantastic! Plus, the benefit.. it does add a layer of protection, so its easier to clean them off and keeps them looking brand new!

Black Magic Titanium tire shine. Great results with that, the main thing I like about it over other tire shines i have tried is it lasts longer.

My tires are starting to take on a brownish look, I attribute it to armour all products. I need to change.

justinjc1 07-15-2008 06:02 AM

im the same when i use armour all on the tires they turn a brownish .. i use a black magic foam spray then wipe it.. blahh sucks when u rub against tires turns everything black:shrug:

Son of a Gun by STP is great for tires that you want to be black and clean looking but not wet. Also doesn't attract dirt like most tire shine does.

That's what I use cuz its the cheapest stuff on the shelves at wal mart. Used that stuff for probably 5 years now and never noticed any rotting or discoloration of the tires. But I also use bleach white to clean the tires and lettering every once in a while. After they dry is when I throw son of a gun all over 'em.

thats the one i was thinking about

Well any Silicone based shine is bad for the rubber anyways.
I've been using Steven's Gloss Boss on mine for years. I get it from work, and i know the distributor well enough to see how they make it[still no idea, it's magic]
If it comes out like a liquid it will sling off. But the stuff i used keeps my tires black and nice looking for weeks going through all kinds of weather. I have a pic somewhere of the mud beading off the tire while wheeling

Recently I've been using Stoner More Shine, so far :biggthump:biggthump:biggthump:biggthump
