Waxing with Random Orbitial Buffer
 

I heard that this is the easy thing to do because you cant really screw it up unlike using a highspeed buffer. Are these things true? Also is this cheap buffer from Princess Auto the right thing to use?

One thing I've learned through personal experience, you can screw anything up if you try hard enough.

I've owned a few of those buffers in my time, it is true that they are much safer for your paint then a high speed buffer. They work well, and do a better job for you than hand waxing.

Check out the types of pads for it, there are ones that are like terry cloths that work very well with cleaner type waxes for removing dirt.

It says it comes with an applicator pad and buffer pad but it looks to me its just a foam type thing with a liner that you put on. Is this right jdcrush?

You might find the 10" to be way to big. i use a porter cable 7424 and ccs 6" pads with 4" cutting pads. As long as you keep a DA moving and dont let the pad run out of workable product your paint will be safer, as a novice then with a real buffer, but DA's posses the ability to remove way more paint then wet sanding or a traditional buffer when trying to perfect results with cutting compounds so start slow you should be fine.

I agree the 10'' may be a little too big and after a while it may wear out your arms... I use a G-110 with 6" pads and they are great to work with. They do make the job a lot less of a hassle but they can also make it just so.

Id stay away from bonnets, use pads bonnets suck to clean and keep clean and sometimes they will enstill swirls and holograms in the paint.

as stated before start slow and dont rush anything, once you start to rush you are going to mess up
